Everine took the audience through a journey through mountains and forest (“inspired by a 12th century rescue of the child heir of the norwegian throne by rebel militants,” according to the show’s program) through a trio of looks capitalizing on the designer’s strength in outerwear and tailoring, including a short, ivory shearling jacket, a tweed/plaid riding coat and plump fur mittens.

Without even having to change the abbreviation, the C.S.A. idea has fully made the leap from agriculture to art. After the first program started four years ago in Minnesota, demonstrating that the concept worked just as well for art lovers as for locavores, community-supported art programs are popping up all over the country: in Pittsburgh, now in its first year; Miami; Brooklyn; Lincoln, Neb.; Fargo, N.D. organization, and mnartists.org, an online database of Minnesota artists, it has taken on new personalities as it has migrated.

Danielle Everine
April 16, 2012
Clothes designed by Danielle Everine seem to harken back to another time, and it’s no wonder – her collections spring from daydreams about pioneer women of the late 1800s or turn-of-the-century trans-Atlantic voyages. The whimsy inherent in these historical influences is offset by Everine’s functional designs and use of wearable, practical fabrics.

Seeking to redefine beauty into something that doesn’t have to be glossy or glamorous, Everine creates accessible fashions for a modern woman who can be active while being beautifully dressed. Back in Minnesota after appearing on Season 9 of Lifetime’s Project Runway, Everine is more confident in her vision than ever, pulling renewed inspiration from the land and the climate of her roots.
